Free Summer Reading Events for All Ages!
Conroe, TX—Central Library and the Montgomery County Memorial Library System, in cooperation with the Texas State Library and Archives Commission, is proud to announce exciting programs this summer. Children ages birth-12 are invited to participate in the Texas Reading Club where they can earn fabulous rewards for reading 10 or more books. Teens, ages 12-18 are welcome to take part in TTR.10 (Texas Teens Read 2010), where they may earn rewards for meeting their personal reading goals. Adults, ages 18 and up, may participate in the Adult Summer Reading Program. Read or listen to books and be placed in a drawing for bookstore gift cards. Drawings are held for the branch and for all Montgomery County Libraries!
This year the Central Library, located at 104 I 45 North , is hosting more than 50 events for all ages. Participation in summer reading programs is not required to attend library events, and all events are free and open to the public. Children
Contact the children’s coordinator Laura Harper at 936-788-8377 x242 or the Children’s Reference Desk for more information about our reading incentive program for children and preteens. Sign up at the Children’s desk and get your reading log between June 7th and July 28th.
This year’s theme is, Catch the Reading Express! Programs and activities are planned to promote reading as a leisure activity, stimulate curiosity, and encourage children to use library resources. The Texas Reading Club is self-paced and fosters reading success by rewarding children for the time they spend reading.
The 2010 Summer Reading Cub is for both readers and listeners. It will run from Monday, June 7th through Wednesday, July 28th. All children through 12 years of age may join. The last day to report books is Saturday, July 24th at 5 p.m.

Art at the Library - Participants have hands on experiences creating original art pieces with a variety of materials. Adult Summer Reading - “Take a Read-cation!” - Program Guidelines:
Contact the reference librarian Jessica Russell at 936-539-7814 ext 252 or the Reference Desk for more information about our reading program for adults.
1. ASR will run from June 7th-July 22nd 2010.
2. Readers must be 18 or older to participate.
3. Pick up your reading log at any MCMLS location.
4. Read as many titles as you like (books or audio books) and fill out your log tickets.
5. Return your log tickets to your library branch or submit your titles online at www.countylibrary.org to be entered in a prize drawing at your library branch, and a system-wide grand prize drawing. All tickets are due by 9pm July 22nd.

For those 18 years and older, we have the Adult Summer Reading Program, Take a Read-cation!, from June 7th to July 22nd. Read as much as you like! Record titles to enter drawing. $25 gift certificate and other prizes. One book = one chance in the drawing.
Also for adults is the Library Scavenger Hunt, from June 7 to July 23, to test your knowledge or help you learn more about the library. Complete the hunt to enter a drawing for $25 gift card and other prizes.
