Lone Star College-Montgomery Presents Student-Directed Performance: Living With the Savage

Lone Star College-Montgomery’s theatre honors fraternity, Delta Psi Omega, presents an Actors Workshop production of Living With the Savage, by Dawson Moore, February 16-18 in the Black Box Theatre, located in the Performing Arts Center (Building D, Room 204).

Performances times are Thursday, February 16, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, February 17, at 7:30 p.m.; and Saturday, February 18, at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. There are no late arrivals, and the performance lasts approximately 45 minutes.

 Lone Star College-Montgomery Presents “New Archeology” Ceramics Exhibit

Lone Star College-Montgomery's art department presents an exhibition entitled “New Archeology,” by ceramics artist Jeff Forster, on display Monday, February 13, through Friday, March 2, in the Mary Matteson-Parrish Art Gallery, located in the Performing Arts Center (Building D).

A free, community-wide opening reception with refreshments will take place in the same location on Monday, February 13, at 2 p.m.

The Woodlands Mall Presents January Spotlight on the Arts

Beginning Friday, January 27, the Spotlight on the Arts gallery at The Woodlands Mall will feature an exhibit of murals created by community organizations under the direction of artist Vickie McMillan. The new exhibition will feature local organizations including the 2011 Montgomery fires, Children’s Safe Harbor, the Montgomery County Women’s Center and Montgomery County Youth Services.

The Pavilion Ranks Fifth in the World for Tickets Sold in 2011

The Woodlands, Texas – According to the Jan. 16, 2012, edition of Pollstar magazine, the concert industry’s leading trade publication, The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion ranked fifth in its listing of the top 100 amphitheaters in the world based on the number of tickets sold in 2011. The Pavilion’s ticket sales totaled 277,099 for shows played between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2011.

The Power of Music: Houston Composer and Artist Paul English to Perform at Lone Star College-Montgomery

Lone Star College-Montgomery’s music department presents an evening of contemplative solo piano for meditation and personal reflection on Thursday, February 9, at 7 p.m., in the Recital Hall, located in the college’s Music Hall (Building H). The performance is free and open to the public.

The evening will feature Houston’s internationally recognized composer, pianist, producer, and educator, Paul English, who will showcase how the power of music can tap into memories and emotions, stimulate minds, and make us move.
